Baby Panda Named "Precious"

Thank you to KGTV News 10: Following Chinese tradition, the [San Diego] zoo waited until the [baby panda] cub, which was born Aug. 3, reached 100 days old before giving her a name... and the name is "Zhen Zhen" in Chinese, or "Precious".

The other choices were Li Hua (Beautiful China), Ming Zhu (Bright Treasure) and Xiao Li (Little Beauty).

Video of the ceremony at The San Diego Zoo is below and is summarized by the Zoo thusly: "With the sounds of traditional Chinese music and the performance of a Chinese dance troupe in lion costumes, the San Diego Zoo unveiled the name of its 16-week-old giant panda cub: Zhen Zhen.
